WHY TEST?

You can feel completely fine and still have an infection.

STI testing may be appropriate after a new partner, possible exposure, unprotected sexual contact, development of symptoms, or simply as part of routine sexual health care.

The right testing depends on the individual. Your provider will help determine which tests are appropriate for you.

TESTING MAY INCLUDE
01

Chlamydia & Gonorrhea

Testing may be recommended based on your symptoms, history, possible exposure, and individual risk factors.

02

Syphilis

Blood testing may be recommended based on your history, symptoms, exposure, and risk factors.

03

HIV

HIV screening may be recommended as part of routine sexual health care or after a potential exposure.

04

Other Testing

Additional testing may be appropriate depending on symptoms, pregnancy, prior infections, sexual history, or other clinical factors.

IF A TEST IS POSITIVE

We help you understand what happens next.

Many STIs are curable, and all are treatable. Treatment depends on the specific infection, your medical history, pregnancy status when relevant, allergies, and other clinical factors.

Partner evaluation and treatment may also be needed to reduce the chance of reinfection and further transmission.

Follow-up testing may be recommended for some infections even after treatment is completed.

TESTING THAT FITS YOU

The right tests depend on your situation.

STI testing is not one-size-fits-all. Your provider will recommend testing based on your symptoms, history, possible exposures, and individual risk factors.

The goal is simple: order the testing that makes sense for you without unnecessary testing.

RECENT HIV EXPOSURE?

Some exposures are time-sensitive.

If you believe you may have had a significant recent exposure to HIV, seek medical care promptly rather than waiting for routine STI testing. HIV post-exposure prophylaxis is time-sensitive.

CONFIDENTIAL CARE

Sexual health is health care.

You can discuss sexual partners, symptoms, exposures, and concerns privately and without judgment.

Accurate information helps us recommend appropriate testing and provide the right treatment, follow-up, and prevention guidance.
